“I know it’s important to be active on social networks to increase my research profile, but where do I start?”
Program Goals
This program will support you in analysing and growing your online research network to develop research connections, collaboration opportunities and dissemination channels.
This course will start on 10 August 2015. Over four weeks you will:
- analyse and grow your online research profile
- map your personalized research network
- explore different methods, communities and channels for sharing your work
- develop filtering and management strategies for online information and social interactions
- examine the habits of experienced networked researchers
- develop a personal research network strategy that supports your work and fits your habits
A Social Learning Experience
This programme is designed as a social learning experience. This means that over 4 weeks we will work and learn together as a community of inquiry. For each week, social networking tasks are made available through our mobile learning platform. You choose in what order, how and when you complete them to best fit your time, your practice and your work. Your task is complete when you report back to the community on your progress. You will also track your progress through a number of key social metrics.
You can’t learn about social networking without being social. So we will meet face to face once a week during workshops and coffee check-ins, as well as online via weekly Google Hangouts which will be recorded. We will also learn together asynchronously through our mobile learning platform and social media. You will also be introduced to experienced, highly networked researchers. And throughout the 4 weeks, Joyce will be available as your personal online coach to answer questions or help solve problems.
Expect to spend approximately 2-3 hours per week on the independent learning activities.
